Big Change Update – July

The Big Change fund has now supported 3 people into homes, and helped 12 individuals with items to support them to move away from the streets. A total of £3940 has been awarded through the grants so far.

This week Big Change supported a person with travel so he could attend job interviews, whilst last week a long term rough sleeper was helped to furnish his new home after being in hospital. Also a small grant went to help a former rough sleeper buy some electricity when he found himself in fuel poverty, keeping him in his home.

One of the people who received support from the fund for a 2 weekly bus pass is living in a squat and has found a job. This is his feedback on why this help from Big Change was important to him…

“This help with the bus pass is very important for me because I found a job in Heywood and I need to be able to travel from Manchester City Centre to Heywood 5 times a week. I need this help as I’ll receive my first payment after I complete my second week with them. I would really struggle if I didn’t have this bus pass. I am very thankful for that.”

Rough Sleepers can now access the fund via any of the following agencies…

The money you give through Big Change goes to real people to help with real solutions. To find out more about the fund, and to donate, visit streetsupport.net/give-help/donate/. Thank you for your support.
