Launchpad Re-launch MEAM Operational Group

Ellie Pollitt, Acting MEAM Co-ordinator at Launchpad Reading is delighted to confirm that they are in a position to re-launch their MEAM operational group; all-be-it virtually for the time being.

They are inviting all Reading based homelessness charities to join their first ‘post lockdown’ meeting to be held virtually via Teams on Monday 21 September from 10:00 – 12:00. If you would like to join the meeting, please send an email to Ellie.Pollitt@launchpadreading.org.uk who will provide you with the invitation link directly.

Given the incredible efforts from local services to be both adaptive and flexible with service delivery during the pandemic, Ellie felt it would be a good opportunity to get everyone together to share this professional experience and look at how everyone can continue to support clients facing multiple disadvantages in the Reading area.

Launchpad Reading is very mindful that the pandemic has brought about significant changes to service delivery in Reading. As such, they can’t relaunch their Operational MEAM group without recognising the need to also evolve and respond to these changes. Ellie would therefore really welcome your feedback which can be given via SurveyMonkey which will only take about five minutes to complete.

Launchpad Reading would also like to discuss the format of how their MEAM operational meetings will take going forwards. Ellie will briefly run over their referral criteria, how to make a referral and what she can offer as the MEAM Coordinator too. The hope is that in the next month Ellie will be in a position to accept some new referrals; so watch this space and do let her know separately if you have a client in mind.

Ellie and the team are also keen to re-name their Operational Group. They appreciate that many agencies do not recognise what the ‘MEAM’ acronym means and subsequently, what the MEAM approach and it’s aims represent in Reading. They feel a new name and some new information packs will help overcome this issue so they are hoping to explore this with you all too.

If you know of any other organisations/professionals that may like to attend their Operational meeting, please do point them in Ellie’s direction or feel free to pass her their details.
