Do Different in 2020: Reporting from the GM Facilitation Team

by Nadia Purcell

Well 2020 has been a year of changes and we are only in what month is it again?

This year has made a lot of us think differently, do differently and exist differently and you know what: that is ok, it is totally fine because great things happen when you leave your comfort zone.  So, 2020 thank you for breaking through comfort zones.

This year has brought a bunch of us together and we are now trained as legislative theatre facilitators. This is not a joke…although the training for it is known as “joker training!”

We have been given the amazing opportunity to create a play around the GMHAN and the first play specifically highlights multiple disadvantage experiences in the homelessness system.  We have been working hard whilst following all COVID19 guidelines and have produced a powerful piece of theatre with amazing actors who have shared their experiences and created this play.

September 30th, 2020 is a date that will not only bring theatre into the GMHAN prevention strategy but it will be a date that people will experience something they have never experienced before, either as an online audience member or an in-person audience member.

CHANGE HAPPENS WHEN WE ALL COME TOGETHER.

The GMHAN and the GMCA are thrilled to invite you to the inaugural GM Legislative Theatre event on Wed 30th September, working towards a co-produced homelessness prevention strategy for Greater Manchester! Registration is now live, RSVP here.
