Staysafe – Purpose, Activity and Friendship During the Day

Staysafe is a new and innovative project offering daytime support for people who have gotten off the streets and are in emergency or temporary accommodation.  The BCARS team (a partnership between Faithworks and local churches) are there to provide individuals with “purpose, activity, and friendship” at a church venue throughout Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.  We welcome those who have left rough sleeping behind, who want to be active and feel that they have purpose. The overall aim is for our guests to get connected to community where they can build healthy and forward-looking relationships. There is every possibility for each individual to improve their situation, to keep from returning to the streets and find a way out of just surviving to thriving in life.

Each participant will have a bespoke plan to fulfill their own aspirations and plans. They will have individual access to professional support workers and opportunities to develop new skills, as well as access training, certificates and courses. Staysafe provides a safe space for people to tell their story, share their lived experience, and develop teamwork.

If you, or someone you know, is in emergency or temporary accommodation and want to take up our Staysafe offer of support, simply call the BCARS Helpline 07842 174241, open Mon – Fri 9 am til 1 pm, and a staff member will take you through a referral.
