Born from the huge need for temporary accommodation and the dramatic lack of it in Chelmsford, Cool to be Kind and Street Support Chelmsford teamed up with ARU, Sanctus and Chelmsford Rough Sleepers Support Group (with whom Cool to be Kind’s outreach group works along side during the weekly outreach) to provide extra support for people in TA.
Together we sourced food and hygiene packs and researched support that is available in the out-of-area locations that are commonly used to place people in emergency temporary accommodation.
These areas are particularly used when SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) is activated but will be invaluable throughout the year.
We are pleased to announce that support for six areas are now live on Street Support Chelmsford and work is continuing with the Street Support Network to make the presentation of this work easily printable and more user friendly.
Working together is our thing and we are so proud to have been part of this project!
