MyBnk is now Money Ready – Same Mission, New Name

After nearly 20 years supporting people to better understand and manage their money, the charity formerly known as MyBnk has a new name: Money Ready.

The new name comes with a fresh look, but the goal remains the same—helping people feel confident and in control when it comes to their finances.

Why the change?

The team found that “Money Ready” was a clearer, more relatable name for the work they do—especially as their programmes expanded to reach more adults alongside young people. It started as a sub-brand, but it made so much sense that it’s now become the charity’s new identity.

You’ll see a new logo, new colours, but what really matters is that helping people feel empowered with money isn’t changing.

What Money Ready does

Money Ready delivers free, expert-led financial education programmes to over 50,000 people a year across the UK. Their sessions cover practical topics like budgeting, saving, debt, and digital money—helping people make informed choices about their money and avoid financial crisis.

They work with children, young people, and adults, including those leaving care or facing financial hardship. It’s all about prevention, confidence, and giving people the language of money for life.

What’s happening in the Midlands?

In the Midlands, Money Ready is running tailored workshops with groups of young people aged 16-37, making financial education practical and accessible to more people.

There are free programmes available for:

These sessions are perfect for anyone who wants to get on top of their money, whether they’re starting out in work, managing a tight budget, or facing challenges like debt or housing insecurity.

Sally McLachlan, Midlands Manager, Money Ready is continuing to support organisations across the region and can be reached at her new email: sally.mclachlan@moneyready.org

Why it matters

Poor financial literacy often sits behind bigger issues like mental health struggles, homelessness, or unemployment. Money Ready believes that financial education shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be a right for everyone.

By helping people understand how to manage money, make good decisions, and plan ahead, they’re giving people the tools to build a more secure and confident future.
