Since May 2016 Big Change has been providing practical support to  people who are currently homeless and people who have recently been homeless by paying for items that are most needed. From a pair of new boots or a deposit for a home, to new clothing and travel costs for job interviews and training courses. From furniture and white goods to toiletries, carpets and mobile phones.

So far Big Change has:

• raised over £190,000
• distributed over £135,000 (over £7,000 a month)
• helped fund over 340 people into housing
• assisted over 1150 people

Over £100,000 has been raised through the generous donations of the people of Manchester and over £90,000 has been donated by businesses in Greater Manchester.

There has been and continues to be an extraordinary response to the ever-growing crisis in Manchester. The mission to end the plight of people sleeping rough in our city and to drastically reduce the numbers of people who are homeless throughout Greater Manchester remains the priority for organisations, charities, the public and private sectors and of course, the people of Manchester.
