Video Launch at Southampton Solent University, Palmerston Lecture Theatre, Spark Building.
A summit called to tackle rough sleeping this Thursday has seen over 100 people book in. Civic and charity leaders from across the city will gather to take forward their commitment to see Southampton as a city where there is no need to sleep rough or beg. One of the organisers, Paul Woodman from City Life Church, said, ‘We have an active partnership of at least thirty charities, agencies and businesses that have come together to tackle the issue over the long-term. The summit will report on a step up in the work we are doing together since signing the Rough Sleeping and Begging Charter in September’.
Southampton Solent University’s own creative agency, Solent Creatives has worked alongside the Street Support Action Group to produce a new short video which will be screened for the first time on Thursday.
Southampton Solent University student, Olivia Page, worked on the production of the short video while on placement with the partnership. Olivia said, ‘The project has been really interesting. I had my eyes opened to all the services that exist in Southampton to help people come off the streets. I hope this new video encourages people to give their support and find ways to help others.’
